Does anyone have any current information about teaching at XJTLU, including Ts and Cs, living in or near Suzhou, teaching hours, and anything that could be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that's the Xi'an Liverpool University in SIP. I played football around there before and it's a fairly nice area albeit a little isolated. I can't tell you much about it except that it exists, which is something.

SIP is a very nice area though.

No complaints.

Mostly functional, serious British style EAP courses.

Plenty of downtime, too much?

The city is a little dull but a good place to save money

You've got this the wrong way around. Don't upfront on Daves. Apply, get an offer and contract then ask for comments.

Seconding everything svenhassel said (except the downtime - no such things as too much!).

Worked there for many years, but eventually left because of the aforementioned dullness (and weather, and pollution, and locals).

Short answer - overall positive. Happy to answer PMs.

If it's the same place that I looked up on google maps then it's only a short distance from Shanghai which should mean a quick bus or train ride should cure any boredom.
