For those of you who have renewed your contract in a public university, do you/did you get a flight reimbursement each year? Or was it just a once off? It is not very clear on the contract. I know I will have to ask my uni really, but I am just curious as to what is the norm.

Every year is the norm.

However it will vary between reimbursement and an allowance.

Yes , if it's in the contract then you'll get it every year. The allowance is much better than the reimbursement , in my experience, because you had to produce receipts for the re-imbursement , and only got money if you flew back home every year. Or you'd get your cheap flight to Thailand etc refunded , which was pretty meagre.
