Would anyone be willing to offer a description of, or an assessment/opinion, of the housing offered by IPA in Riyadh?
Is it in actuality/truthfully "fully furnished," as with full kitchen, fridge, decent bed, etc?
What is the opinion generally of work at IPA? |

Unless you are direct hire then you will be employed by an agency either Eduguide or ICEAT. The accommodation is nothing to do with the IPA.
Eduguide's flat was a bare minimum. There was hardly any cutlery or pans but I did have a basic couple of rings to cook on, a mini oven (I was lucky - most didn't have this) and a fridge. The bed was basic but okayish.
I'm told that since then the building I was in is now vacant and the new facilities are better.
The work was bad by world standards but tolerable by Saudi standards. The students are difficult but unusually for Saudi, there is a discipline system and the real idiots will get kicked out. In fact you will make friends with the management if you punish those who don't deserve to be there.
Lots of people got fired often because they had fallen out with the management or been too lenient with the students. |

I don't know any of the women teachers because you can't really talk to the opposite sex in Saudi and I didn't work for ICEAT.
I did talk to the ICEAT guys a fair bit and it would really surprise me if there was a compound. ICEAT guys were paid less and treated worse than Eduguide ones and we didn't have a compound. |
