|

Hi Everyone,
In college, most liberal arts courses I know read a book a week.
We discussed it in class, wrote a paper and maybe took a final. That was that.
As a teacher, can I replicate something in the ESL way, and managed to get paid for it?
I see many university level teaching jobs might have this.
To me, I hate lesson prep and I hate grading. This might be a way to minimize this, but also get to do some interesting work.
I think reading either popular or well-respected novels can be very enjoyable and educational. It seems the hallmark of education to be well-read, and have discussed it with peers. |

If you teach literature, that is what you do. I do something similar, I teach AP Literature at a high school. Only problem, there is quite a bit of assessment. You do have to give both formative and summative feedback on the work the students do. |

Yes if you teach English majors.I got this in Chinese Uni and it was wonderful- first semester English lit, second semester American lit. Curriculum- whatever I wanted. IT was really enjoyable both for me and the students. |
