Does anyone know anything? It happened in Al Dhariz, which is a neighborhood in Salalah. That narrows it down considerably.
I think it is important that other expat teachers let the ministry of justice know that we are not happy about this, and that whoever did it (an Omani national) probably needs to go to prison for a long time. |

As I recall the last time there was a well-publicized expat murder - subcontinental money lenders - by Omanis, the three locals were hung on orders of Sultan Qaboos after their being found guilty.
We will have to wait and see how this case is handled. I don't see how inundating the Ministry will affect their legal system, which is quite effective for the Gulf. Perhaps discussions with your institution's Omani management...
