Hey, V3K here, well I know nothing of Brazil, but my good friend sitting beside me felt compelled to answer you.
He`s a bad ass Brazil loving gringo.
Here he is.....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My friend, I admire your enthusiasm, but ....
People don`t ride bicycles in Sao Paulo, that is, the city of Sao Paulo. If you`re riding your bicycle outside of the city [in the state of Sao Paulo], you`re probably living on borrowed time. I could expand on this, but ... its not neccessary. I`ve been to Brazil four times for a total of about a year and lived in Sao Paulo city, so I know at least somewhat about this. Like I said, I admire your enthusiasm, and I love sports, I`m a climber and I`ve climbed in Brazil, but I always went outdoor climbing with natives and would never consider taking off on my own [in Brazil].
Although I haven`t had any problems in Brazil, I consider myself lucky so far.
I hope this helps.

Well ... there you go.
Good luck, and take care!
Best,
V3K |
