|
|
I'm going to be flying into Phnom Pehn July 23rd and flying out and July 27th.... it's sort of a side trip during my vacation in Vietnam..
I really have no idea what Cambodia is about other than the Angkor temple deal..
any recommendations on what I should do to make the most of my trip?
Anything would be appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance. |

Your usual four day tour of Phnom Phen involves one day at Toul Sleng and the killing fields, the national museum and a walk along the riverfront at night, and three days of whoring at the Walkabout or Martini.
But there's other stuff to do, too. |

Phnom Penh is an amazing place. I would say to stay at the Lyon D'Or www.lyondorkh.com and visit S-21 and the Killing Fields for personal edification. You will definitely be emotionally drained after that and a visit to www.sharkysofcambodia.com Sharky's will be in order. |

I must second Khmerhit's recommendation for "Tales of Asia". It's got loads of useful up-to-date info on SEA that you won't get elsewhere. Great site!

In my opinion, talesofasia.com is quite superficial (and childish) about Asian countries other than Cambodia, Thailand and China.
Any decent travel guidebook will give you more accurate and helpful information about Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.
However, the discussion forums on talesofasia.com are often quite good. |

Yes, well, we are talking about Cambodia. I do believe that talesofasia is headquartered in Siem Reap. Cambodia. |
