Hello everybody.

I am in Texas, and I am excited about the possiblity of teaching in South America. I have an undergradate degree in English... that's it....

I know that I will be hanging around here in Austin until I can save up some dough, and so I thought perhaps I'll take an Internet TEFL class. Confused

I've been reading though these forums. I am interested in Bridge-Linguatec, but of course it's so expensive. Some people say this course is no good. Some folks say that you do not need a TEFL certificate at all - just show up and beat the pavement looking for work. Confused

I would greatly appreciate anyone's advice on these issues.
I would like to teach in Brazil, Argentina - i've heard visas are eaiser in Chile...

Again, Any advice would be helpful.

alaskad.

Don't i-to-i only offer 'volunteer7 positions where you pay your expenses out there? If so, use the money to get a CELTA or Trinity College Certificate and the world is your (cold-water) oyster.

Go to Venezuela. It's the most exciting social process in the world right now. If you are lucky, you could be a part of it.
