Oh yes, but they are amazing at looking busy. It must be some sort of gift that they can look too busy to even answer a simple question, but actually do practically nothing the entire day, except - look busy.

Are the geckos in Oman on steroids now? I don't remember them being quite this aggressive. Smile

This is Abu Gecko. Ordinary geckos control the mosquitoes and flies. Abu Gecko keeps the wadi cats under control. (and a few stray wild dogs, too!) Confused

Ah yes, the wadi cats and the jebel dogs. I thought controlling them was the main activity of the Omani police - at least that was true on the SQU campus. Shocked

I must check with my friends still there and find out if this new species bothers them when they walk around the campus at night. Smile

Actually, I was able to measure one the other day - only five inches tall when he stretched for a bite of roast goat. Cute! Nearly lost a finger, though. They usually lurk under parked cars. Oh, and trash bins, you see a lot of them around the bins, waiting for the cats.
At night, when you hear the never-ending screeching outside, you may think that it's the mating calls of the cats. Wrong. It's Abu Gecko and his kin having fun with the cats. My avatar is Abu Gecko of that Ilk. A Scottish-Omani gecko.
Perhaps I will design a tartan for him. "'Tis a braw bonnie kitty we'll have for supper, th'nicht!"
The worst is when they get hairballs from eating the cats. Really disgusting, let me tell you! Ugh!!

A thought: What if we were to collect 50 or so Abu Geckos and sneak them into an incompetent school administrator's office some dark night, waiting for morning? Now, if they get hairballs from eating cats, what will they get from eating an administrator?

Some may suggest that we have waaaay too much free time. Smile

It seems our imaginations have an even larger range than the average gecko.

35 contact hours per week?? at one job?? The highest I ever had was 20 and I felt it was abusive. Smile

I wouldn't have even considered a place that required more than 20 - wouldn't want to raise their expectations.

um... have them jump in a lake? (kinda rare in the gulf) Why don't you just sic Abu Gecko on them.
