Hello,

I would like desperately to come and teach in France (Paris) but I don't have a Tesol, only a year experience in Taiwan. I've been working for Wallstreet so as to transfer to France in the future only to find out halfway through my contract that the franchise is a lying, cheating nasty multinational without any concern for their staff. Needless to say, I'm never working for them again and so please tell me, is there any possibility of finding another job without a Tesol? I also hear from my French friends that the economy is extremely low right now and there's millions out of work. I suppose this is effecting the English teaching market, yes?

Thanks,
Niki

Low economy ?

What low economy ? - I always take 'what I have heard' with a huge pinch of salt !

Niki, your nationality and your educational standards have a great deal of influence on how your question can be answered.

Working with a language 'school' (for want of another word) can mean many things.

A few precisions would enable an more accurate response.

Bisous from France !

Niki,

Your BA + nationality mean that you can legally work with the minimum difficulties in France

Wall Street exists here also - but yoyur assessment of them seems pretty accurate.

There are many language schools (profit making) all over the country.
salaries are around 15 - 20 Euros per hour - living in Paris is difficult with that salary unless you are working a lot of hours

I have a complete document about teaching here PM me and I'll see if I can find the file.
