Just a quick question - can anyone recommended a TEFL\TESOL\CELTA school in Argentina?

I tried to apply to Internatonal House, Buenos Aires - but apparently they don't offer CELTA.

Any help would be great!!

I think Bridge Linguatec do a course in BA.... not sure if it's a CELTA though....

According to Cambridge's ESOL site you can do it at:

Santa Monica School of Langugaes
Hiplito Yrigoyen 4605
A 1824 ABC Lans Oeste
Buenos Aires
Argentina
Tel. +54 11 4241 2667
Fax. +54 11 4241 2667
e-mail [email protected]

It seems IH just do the DELTA...

Oh... and you can do the Trinity TESOL cert at:

CENTUM Servicios de Idiomas
[email protected]
CENTUM Servicios de Idiomas
BartolomT Mitre 811, 4piso D
Capital Federal, Argentina C 1036 AA
tel: 4328 2385/8572/5150

Casa de InglTs
[email protected]
Casa de InglTs
Entre Rios 362
Resistencia, Argentina 3500
tel: 03722 443443
fax: 03722 443443

which is in Resistencia, in Chaco province, Northern Argentina.

3rd edit..... Disclaimer: I know nothing of these schools.... but they are UCLES or Trinity accredited, so I would guess that is some kind of guarantee (or is my faith misplaced?).

The info might be out of date. I remember I wanted to do my DELTA and I emailed the schools in Latin America that had it according to the Cambridge site and they all told me that they didn't offer it anymore.

I currently am looking in to the Bridge-Linguatec TEFL and it seems reasonable. Has anyone done it before?

The TEFL school (EBC) Im going to has Madrid and Buenos Aires branches. Worth the try, Ive applied for the Madrid in Feb 2005 but Buenos Aires (I think they have a March course there) looks good as well. Have been in touch with the school and they seem very professional. Ive been doing my homework, speaking to references, calling the office, emailing them with my questions and they seem good. If you do make it to BA let me know. Good luck.

I was happy to find out EBC is opening in BA. Some friends back home are considering leaving the States for a year, you know just to see other parts of the world and my advice to them was to teach English to help them realize this dream. This is how I am seeing Europe, theres no other way (unless of course youre filthy rich!) and Im not too hot on waitressing or anything like that!

I chose getting trained to teach English and Ive been teaching since then and I must say its great! Hard at times but altogether fun! Hard when you have to get to an 8:30 am class after partying away the night before, but again what can I say? You have to work to earn money to enjoy yourself!

I would like to try BA as well but I want to finish my classes in Madrid, besides with the seasons being totally opposites between BA and Madrid, Im considering asking EBC to help me find work during the best seasons in both countries! Worth the try!

yes they are in BA as well, my girlfriend is raring to go, shes (FINALLY!) put down her deposit for the march course so shes all set. Im gonna stay in Madrid till Aug 2005 then maybe Ill try BA as well.
