|
|
I'm teaching English in Tallinn, Estonia and will be vacationing in the Moscow area over Christmas.
I've already secured accommodation in the cities of The Golden Ring, but haven't yet found a reasonably priced place to stay in Moscow proper.
If there are any Muscovites out there with the inside track on an inexpensive hostel please help out a fellow TEFLer in need.
Thank you.

Standard backpacking option is Travellers Guest House, off Prospket Mira in the north of the city. About 15 mins walk from the metro stations Rizhskaya or Prospekt Mira. It's cheap, clean and comfortable by hostel standards.

I would imagine it would be difficult to get anything cheaper in Moscow that will give you temporary registration but maybe someone else knows something.
How are you finding Tallinn? Can I ask how you found your job there? I'd like to work somewhere in Estonia or Latvia next year but haven't been able to find any details of jobs. |

I got my job here in Tallinn by trolling through countless websites while back in the States and then simply coming over here and knocking on doors. I work for a place called ILS which is the only language school of consequence here. Its a great place to work - very professional, good colleagues and top-notch management. Check out www.ils.ee for more info... |

Just simply go IH World Organization web site and see IH Vilnius (Lithuania) school profile and vacancies. At the moment teachers are required to teach GE, BE or ESP a max of an average 24 clock hours per week. |

Thank you Castro
I found the positions aswell. It seems they require atleast one year experience. Maybe I will need to get some experience in China first. |

I worked in Tallinn too. I worked for IH Tallinn. It's a good place to work although the pay isn't really keeping up with Estonia. The director Katrin is a very nice woman. It's a small school so there aren't a lot of positions to go around but you can always try. It's www.ihtallinn.ee for the school. You can also check out www.ihworld.com. Good luck! |
