Hey everyone,
Theres a lot of talk about learning English but what about those who wish to learn other languages.... for example like Chinese or German.
I live in Brisbane, can anyone recommend a learning centre, TAFE, Uni, a method or anything about how to go about learning a foreign language.
The search engines dont seem to come up with much at all....
What are the options?
peace
thanx - FuzzZzz |

Try the Institute of Modern Languages at UQ. Twenty times better (at least for Spanish!) than Brisbane and Moreton TAFE/Adult Ed combined. Try this link... http://www.iml.uq.edu.au/
Good luck!

Fuzzarelly,
UQ's foreign language centre, as the previous poster mentioned, is definitely a good bet.
It's quite possible that some of the state high schools in Brisbane could have night classes in some languages.
Some other options are:
- the WEA (Workers' Education Association). In Sydney, the WEA runs foreign language classes. Probably the same in Brisbane.
- for French, you could try the Alliance Francaise, still located, I think, on George St, about 5 minutes walk from QUT.
- for German, check the phone directory to see if the Goethe-Institut has a branch in Brisbane.
Good luck.
