I teach English at a language school in Paris and have decided to take on some private students for some extra money. Does anyone know what private tutors charge per hour? I have a teaching degree and have over 5 years experience. Thanks for your help. |

Hi,
Hourly rates for private lessons really depend on who you teach. I would say that EUR20/25 is about right, but I have seen people charge EUR30 or 40. Those people usually taught English with a specific purpose, e.g. to help their students pass CAE/CPE/TOEIC-type tests, and to businessmen. However, I think a lot of people (but by no means everyone) would rather spend less for less qualificatied teachers than vice versa - so I wouldn't recommend charging more than average because you have a degree or experience.
Hope this helps! All the best,

i live in Paris and it usually is between 15 to 20 euros an hour, the fact that you have experience might not change anything as some people simply want people speaking english so whether experience or not it remains the same for them.
eo-nomine: 30 eo 40 euros an hour, damn i never heard anything like that but if it s true i wanna be an english teacher !!!!! |
