Does anyone have any info on the Academic Bridge Program, particularly the salary? |

Are they looking for teachers? Last year they interveiwed, but ended up not hiring anyone. (sorry, don't know the salaries, but I expect that they are competitive... if I am thinking about the right place... this is the American connected one, right?)

Hi VS,
I don't even know that much--just that there is something in Qatar by this name. |

fishing? I have no idea what you mean by this. The Academic Bridge Program is recruiting for teachers, but they give no info about who they are or what the salary is. |

Academic Bridge Program......An excellent place to work, but seems you need a BEd. This is not a "language institute". I believe they hire only Americans. So if you are American, with a teaching degree or Master's in TESOl, go for it. Salaries are very good. By the way, I lived in Qatar for 5 years in case anyone wonders how I'd get info about these different places. I do know a couple of American women who work at Qatar A. They've been there for years, pay is very good and good living accomodations. Qatar Academy building is beautiful and now part of Education City, so things can only keep getting better.

How can you find out about job openings? I searched their website but didn't find anything. |

They are still having problems. My good pal left last year because of the new way things were being run. More teachers are leaving this year. Too bad as it had a good track record but the wrong person at the top can make a place go sour. |

again? And on a four year old thread no less?
Do you have anything to add by way of supporting what you have written , or are we just supposed to take your assertions on faith? |

If you interview with them, don't expect the courtesy of any follow up reply. That's what happened to me. I desperately wanted the job, but none of my emails pleading to know that status of my application was ever answered. Incredibly rude and incredibly unprofessional. |

I can confirm what wilburforce posted about their having problems up until the end of last academic year.
I am not certain that we have the same source but I heard the same tale from a friend of mine who left.

(Mr Agostino... there are many employers both in the Gulf and here in the US, who only get in touch with applicants who they are considering. Yes... it is rude... and also very common in education.) |

Yes, I am well aware of that, but that doesn't make it any less rude or unprofessional. |
