I am a certified TESL teacher who has been working in Taiwan for the past two years.
I am interested in working in Santiago.
If someone could give me an honest assessment of the CURRENT situation
there I would greatly appreciate it.

What is the job market like?
(In Taiwan I could find five jobs in a day if I looked hard)
Have you worked for a great or a horrible school? (name please)
Are you working somewhere that is looking for someone?

I would like to arrive before March 1st, is this a good time?
Are there bad times?

Anything else that I haven't come accross by reading the forum.
(some posts are quite old)
Thanks.

this is wonderful
nearly fifty views and yet no response Rolling Eyes
does anyone out there actually work in chile?
would anyone like to keep this forum up to date? Question

coming from taiwan i guess i'm a little spoiled by an active
network of expats who don't mind dishing out
advice, information and tips to those who are interested Very Happy

if you're out there and have something to add please do
for the sake of those of us who are not Shocked
and don't like the idea of relying on out of date information Laughing

Grendude, all the answers to your questions are already on the site. There are actually only a few people who regularly post on this forum. Any info from the last 6-9 months is pretty much up to date- things don't change very quickly in this part of the world unless there's a massive economic crash like in argentina a couple of years ago. Prices are stable, as is the economy, so not much changes.
