I know this is about teaching English and I will
be in BA for that sole purpose next year... however
I have booked my ticket for August the 8th and I want
the latest info on where the portena fine ends dance the night away...

I was there in 2002 and I know places go bankrupt, get shut
down and so on... so if any of you have any good recommendations
on where Lusita Lopiato might hang out (I cheked out compatibility
based on our names on the internet and we are 98% compatible
so I reckon I'm in there Very Happy then I would be grateful...

Cheers!!!

Carlos, by far the best book for everything that's going on in Buenos Aires is the Time Out guide to the city. Really, really useful. Milion is my favourite place, it's been open a while, Mundo Bizarro is great too, La Cabrera for the best steak in town, Empire Thai for top food along with Green Bamboo if you've had enough of steak (it does happen...). Plaza Dorrego in summer is quite nice for open air drinking, the big clubs like Pacha and Mint are still going as is Club 69 at Niceto Club for an entertaining trannie parade/stage show at 5 am... Avoid Gran Bar Danzon, it's so pretentious it's unbelievable. Oh, and pretty much anywhere in Palermo Viejo. There are dozens of bars, bistros and restaurants all packed from thursday til sunday.

How do you check out compatibility??? Got to check if Pampita and i are on or not... Very Happy

Matt...

I need your full name and then I'll tell you your
compatibility with Pampita... it should be high...
but I have high compatibility with Lusita Lopiato
and Jennifer Garner... I mean if she likes that
big chinned lug Ben Affleck she is bound to like me

Thank you for the info though and I will act upon it
from the day I touch down at Ezezia. I can never get
sick of steak, especially in a nice lomito sandwich... I'll
be living on corned beef and beans till god knows when
after this trip...

there's a place called maluca beleza. it's a brazilian dance club that has several dance floors, a variety of music, brazilian dance stage show, and always lots of energy. people tend to go there in groups of friends, but once the night gets going, everyone is dancing with someone new. it was always quite full of people, but you could still find your own space - not too crowded. i enjoyed the (male) brazilian dancers a lot, i doubt you'd be disappointed with the female ones. as a bonus, when they're not dancing on stage, they come out and dance with the rest of the people Wink

i went there (a bunch) in 2003, so i'm not sure if it's still around, but the cover and drinks are cheaper than many of the palermo clubs. i think it is a few blocks up from corrientes, heading along callao. although i may not be remembering that quite right. at any rate, you can walk there from barrio norte (or even recoleta, but that's a bit more of a hike). and i'm sure of the name, maluca beleza.

Maluca Beleza... I'm going to remember that
name... that sounds like my kind of place!!!

Moscow is like that... you have the dancers and the models
who do catwalk shows in the middle of the DJs set (about
midnight) and after come out to the dancefloor with the plebs and boogie
away the night... it wouldn't be like that in England... they
would be escorted to the 'VIP' area where slimey gets with
BMWs and dodgy hair have access to fawn all over them...

Cheers Amy for that one, much appreciated!
