Greetings,
Have all of the headaches been resolved at MLI? What is it like under HCT management? The threads have gone dead, so maybe everything has been worked out. Who is recruiting for MLI - HCT or MLI? |

I've heard they are phasing out the MLI program over the next year or so.
From their website:
"Until further notice, no additional employment applications are being accepted." |

Nothing could be further from the truth.
I hear they've got their own currency now: the Kudo.
You get enough Kudos, and your students don't have to buy their own headphones. |

So what is the truth about this MLI place? You seem to indicate that you know the truth, but don't let on as to what the truth actually is. Spill the beans if you really know!
Exactly what is happening with MLI. Are they hiring? Firing? (no need for names or explicit details) Part of the HCT recruitment difficulty mentioned elsewhere on this board?
Many thx, (not that I myself would be interested in applying at all)

Miss TESOL, MLI has never been as uncertain of its future or even its tomorrow as now. Conflicting info is circulating from MLI coordinators and CERT/HCT people on a regular basis. Many promises have been made but none kept yet.
Everyone who is anyone in TEFL was at TESOL interviewing for a new job as CERT hasn't yet indicated who will be kept on and won't do so till some time in April (BTW CERT PEOPLE, DUMB MOVE IMHO, as you will probably be able to only keep the less-hireable-teachers nobody else wanted to employ or the ones who were too lazy to try .
MLI management is very distant from its troops (with some exceptions, of course) and seem to be busy proving themselves to their prospective employers. At the price of neglecting their teachers' needs, of course.
In a nutshell, it's a bad time to be at MLI-especially if you value job security. This is not the way to conduct a takeover as teacher morale is at an all time low, and probably will stay that way once the dust settles.
I'll try to update this thread as info becomes available. |

Hear Hear!
But seriously...nice, accurate description of the current situation at the MLI gran fromage. At this point it is actually most entertaining to just sit back and watch!
I also wonder if Uncle Billy's past digressions may end up coming back to haunt him when HCT take over. Surely they wouldn't want that type of baggage... |

Bindair... you're back?
But, HCT is a pretty risk adverse organization. One wonders how it will all play out.

Objection! Who are you calling a b****!?!?! Is that how you normally refer to female colleagues? (at MLI, I presume) |
