Hello Japan related people,
I am set to arrive shortly on a Working Holiday Visa from Canada and am in the process of buying special rail passes designated for vacationers from my travel agent. (JR east 4 in 30 pass and 7 day JR pass). Does anybody know the risk involved in buying these even though I have this specific visa? I have heard that i may lose 10% of the cost when i try to pick up the passes in Japan if they suspect that i will be in Japan for a while. I would like to hear from anybody who has tried this.
