One of my long term students has just been transferred to Panama, and wants to continue studying. Any of you have any school recommendations?
Thanks,
Justin |

By being 'transfered,' I'm assuming he's an adult and we're talking university level. Tough for me to be completely objective here, but here's my opinion:
Interamericana
Ulacit (both Laureate International Universities)
Latina U
Universidad Del Istmo
Louisville U
Florida St. U
Of course there's always the U of Panama.
For English courses: the top two as well as Florida St. |

Thanks Pirate-
Where are you, exactly? And how flexible are the schedules at universities around there?
Thanks,
Justin |

Justin; Panama City. There's nothing really outside of here as far as TEFL.
This is it...only.
English courses run every 7-8 weeks. Again, just for English, there is the Laureate U system and Fla.St. You'll find Americans and Canadians ONLY in these two. There is a language institute on the campus of U of Panama, and that one runs every four months.
Outside of the university system, you'll find language schools all over the place. Most of these are taught by non-native English speakers. Some are OK and some are just plain horrible. |

Fla.St. would be Florida State right? Also, I just read D Sperling's outdated sticky on Panama, and was intrigued. Have things changed much? Are there more Americans again and is the pay there still good? |
