I am a recent college graduate looking to move to Rome and teach english this fall. I have an Italian passport and a degree; however, I am not certified.
Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look for teaching jobs in Rome? Also, how hard will it be to find a job without a certificate? If I do need one, which is better TEFL or CELTA?
Thanks,
natascia

Hi,

First, go here:

http://www.paginegialle.it/index.html

type in "scuole di lingue", then teh desired city. You'll get a nice list.

Then, contact teh schools! Most may not start placing ads until later in teh summer, so contacting this way will be better now. Many will hire without a certificate, according to posts on this site. ALso, check teh jobs portion for this site, although remember that because teh school year doesn't actually start until late September or early October for a lot of the schools, they may not be hiring or advertising yet.

Best,

Jeff
