Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Linguarama in Italy (Rome, Milan, Turin) and any comments about working for them, or maybe has worked for them in another country.

I worked for Linguarama Turin for a year 2003-2004 and would highly recommend it, especially if you are British. They offer UK citizens good annual contracts with return flights paid for and help finding accommodation as well as paying above average. When I was there, there was a really good group of teachers with lots of support from the DoS and Centre Manager. Loads of resources as well. It was, however, quite hard work and lots of hours. There was more preparation expected as well as report writing and testing that I hadn't had to do in other Italian schools. But it was very well organised and, for the most part at least, I felt quite valued by students and other members of staff. It was a really social group of teachers when I was there too, lots of nights out and other social things.

I had previously taught for both Wall Street and British Institutes in Turin, neither of which I would recommend.

Thanks for that, just the kind of reply I was looking for. Don't know if I'll be in a position to make a decision though. Last year they offered me a position that I wasn't able to take at the time. This year I sent an application about a month ago and still no reply. We'll see...

If you sent your application to the UK, you might never hear! I don't think that the UK office are as efficient as the local branches.

I'd also agree with Teacher in Rome about contacting the school directly. That's what I did and I started work almost straight away.

Come to think of it, I was in a direct contact last year with someone at Barcelona. Here we go then...
