Mmmmmm. I see. You're looking for the best of both worlds.
If you're financially comfortable, I'd go with Latin America. I've never been, but I'm DYING to go. Why? The people, culture, etc.
Y me gusta la lengua.
If you need $$, try East Asia, the UAE, etc. Thoughts of those regions are slowly weaning me away from my Latin Dreams. I'm poooooooor.
I should point out that the weather in Oman is s'posed to be killer. I went to an info session yesterday afternoon. The words "50 degrees celsius" were thrown around quite a bit. |

Try the search terms: Surfing Vietnam. This is what i got:
waves in vietnam eh? I surfed there in April 1994 which was small but clean and very rideable.
I also went there in Nov.1996 where i found the waves to be more consistent and of a larger size but rather stormy and wind blown on a few days.
If surfing is a part of your holiday then Vietnam is fine. If,however, you are after a surfing holiday you'd be better off going to The Phillipines,Indonesia or Oz. |
