I found this on the web:

http://www.pressconnects.com/today/news/stories/ne022003s50610.shtml

As Esl teachers it may not feel like it 99% of the time, but there always exists that 1% who do give a damn about those of us who do our best. A toast to a fallen comrade!

Thanks for posting that Smile

I think we all need to be reminded from time to time of what a real difference we can make to people's lives.

Dear Joe Thanks,
Thanks, indeed, for the link. A good man ( Michael P. Sopchak Sr ) isn't always so hard to find. I like to think that many people get into teaching because they do care about others, because they want to help others.
It certainly can't be for the money. And I'd say there may be more than " that 1% who do give a damn about those of us who do our best ". Mr. Sopchak's story calls to mind my favorite quote about teaching, by Henry Adams:
" Teachers affect eternity - no one can tell where their influence stops. "
Regards,
John
