Nope... I'm a web design specialist... just got hooked to it a bit so I know some basics... If you want the high-end one, get a Dreambox, get PVR functionality like TiVo and more... |

(Nods) One of the stores I went to had a Dreambox DM-500s. Was wondering if it was any good, and if it would handle the codes you mentioned. |

you can not add a Hard disk to it to the DM500s and so it doesn't support PVR. Only the 7000 and 7020 series model can do that. The 7020 is about 1700QR plus 100QR if you order it directly from Dubai.
But I suggest that you buy a basic one for now since you're basically a beginner. The Dreambox uses Linux and quite complicated. With the receiver that you can input codes through the remote, it's just a matter of pressing a button and inputting codes. Just ask around the shops if they have a receiver like that. I'm sure they have those cheap ones. |
