Just wondering if anyone has ever taught on a American Military Base? I took a look at the Department of Defense Schools website and there are actually ESL positions in the elem, middle, and high school levels. Of course there are many, many people who apply for these postions, but I am thinking about trying next year. If you have taught on a base, did you like it? How was the pay/insurance/retirement compared to the public schools here in the states?
Thanks for your time!

If you go here http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/ and select the area in which you're interested in working, up will pop the jobs along with the salaries.
DOD jobs provide the same retirement and insurance benefits as any other civil service jobs and are dependent on grade and whether or not the job is permanent or temporary.
Note: these are regular positions in education and are not ESL/EFL jobs. Therefore, you'd need to have the education and experience pertinent to a particular area. |
