hey guys,
start a new job (employer number at the Berufs Akademie tomorrow and the focus is on Rechnungswesen (Accounting more or less) and I don't seem to have too much in the way of handouts or info. I've spent a couple of hours on the net but mostly found frustrating vocab lists for accounting. Anybody have anything helpful? I don't need it for tomorrow but in two weeks after I come back from Paris! |

You might want to get some copies of financial reports from large companies. Just call up their offices, and they'll probably send them to you for free.
You can then create an exercise where you use white-out to cover up various numbers. Then, working in pairs, the students ask their partners for the missing numbers (i.e. what was the gross profit in 2004?).
Good luck. It takes a good teacher to make accounting interesting. |

It can be riveting you know, and I'm not kidding. Have you ever looked at the Enron stuff?
I read a couple of books about that last year, and it was easily as good as any thriller I know |
