hey everyone, well i just graduated college with a business degree in California and my passion has always been teaching. I recently took some tests to become a teacher in California, but i want to travel and have a good experience while im young, well let me cut to the chase, i want to go to Prague and get certified. ive read that the best certification is the CELTA but they only offer it in one school in Prague, my other option is the TEFL which is given at many different institutions, my question is what schools are the best for this type of certification. Ive seen a couple online and read other reviews in this forum and a lot of people here have good and bad reviews of different schools, ive researched some schools to get the TEFL such as the following:
TEFL Prague
TEFL Worldwide
ITC
Bridge Lenguatec
these are the ones ive found so far , could you suggest some other ones that you have attended and have found to be a good program? and what do you think of the institutions i mentioned on top? i know some people have strong opinions on certain schools but i would like your most honest response and would like to know which one is the best one in teaching and in its atmosphere as a whole. Thank you so much for you help, cant wait to fly to Prague in a couple months,

If you want your money to be worth it, go for an internationally-recognised certificate (CELTA or Trinity TESOL). None of the schools you mention in your post offer that. |

Well, I know a few TEFL-Prague AND TEFL Worldwide grads personally who are now teaching around the globe.
Guess Spiral IS right in his fight against the bigotry of Trinity school marketeers |

I know an ITC grad who is doing quite well for herself, too! A few years back, it was a great program, but it got caught up in some sort of management scandal (its Barcelona program was harder hit, though). There are a few threads about it. Weird scandals aside, I can recommend it.

No other school than what? There's a list - there are at least six. Prague's a major TEFL training centre - that's why the job market's in favor of the schools; there are many, many newly certified teachers hitting the pavements every couple of months. Not to say that you can't find work - you can - but there is competition. |
