Okay,
It's happened again.
I have to mention it.
WHEN APPLYING FOR JOBS WRITE A NEW COVER LETTER TO MATCH THE JOB.
I recieved a letter today, this is how it starts
I am writing to inquire in regard to the availability of teaching positions
on any of the cruises ships. I have traveled through Mxico on three
occasions and I have held a strong interest in traveling and learning new
cultures ever since. I am looking for a start date as soon as possible.I am
looking for a full time position with any cruise. I am 23 years old, and
eager to get started in this new career.
Umm okay, that's nice, but what the heck does that have to do with me? I live and work 6 hours drive from any navigable body of water. This letter was also addressed to somebody @solar.sar.net I can only hope they have something to do with cruises. At least this guy got the contry right. It is just as common to get letters starting with I've always wanted to live in Turkey.
If you don't want your application to go straight to the trash, please check your cover letters carefully before you hit cut, paste, send.
cheers
