Hi -- Upon reading about HK star Anita Mui's cervical cancer, I thought, "Jeez, I haven't had a pelvic exam in like four years! Am I dumb or what?!?" Have any of the women out there had one in HK?
I'm in Shenzhen, and would rather go to HK just because I'd like to be sure I could communicate well with the doctor or nurse, and sure that all the medical practices are up to snuff. Also, b/c I get paid a mainland salary, can you tell me how much your exams and tests cost? I don't want to break the bank! Thanks!

www.asiaxpat.com.hk

Lots of questions about HK are answered in a number of different forums...

There are some options in and around GUANGZHOU:
In CLIFFORD MANSION, Panyu, is a modern, private hospital with bilingual staff catering to local expats from the nearby estate. It no doubt costs a lot less than any HK doctor.

If you do want to visit a HK clinic, the Mathilda is specialising in your kind of problems, but they are very expensive.
Otherwise, I suggest you ask your consulate for a recommendation. I asked mine, and they referred me to a private doctor that had the trust of all consulate staffers and lots of expats - but he is not a gynecologist.

Good advice Roger. Why don't you give her your Dentist's number as well.

I don't need a dentist. I'm an American. My teeth are PRISTINE! Very Happy

Thanks for the advice, Roger! I never thought of contacting my embassy!
