Hello everyone,
Yes I'm a newbie....so bear with me please!!
I know the topic of native VS non-native has been covered quite a few times, but I'm still going to ask my questions anyways.
I am not exactly what you would call a native speaker, but have all my life spoken english (on TOP of french), I speak both languages with the same degree of fluency. I have attended the french version of high school, but attended an english university, and have a canadian passport.
Will a school check to see if I'd actually attended an english secondary school? or is a university degree from an english university enough?
Thx for your time

I'd say that you're a native speaker of English when applying for a TEFL post.

And then you're a native speaker of French when you apply for a post as TFFL.

One tiny, small, little reservation - Do Canadians speak French like French people , Laughing

well rogan, Thx for your answer...
as for do canadian french, I speak french from France because my mother is half-moroccan half-french while my dad is an anglophone canadian.
French canadians do have a very different accent from the France french.
They tend to pronounce the A (pronounced AH) more like O for example.

I'll second Rogan. You hold a Canadian Passport. You hold a degree from an English medium university. Why rock the boat? in the US after completing your university degree, it is expected that you will not put any lower education (high school) on your resume.

When making your English resume, simply add, fluent in French.
