I plan to live in Brazil for at least six months without working. I will retire midyear from my job as a public school teacher so I can attend Carnaval. A small town in a place of natural beauty would be my choice, particularly if it is located near a larger place with colleges, museums, theaters, libraries, etc.
Last year I finished the TESL Certification Course through the Oxford Institute. They have a job placement service for graduates. I also have California Teaching Credentials, and a terminal degree.
My first inclination was to begin my job search right away. Then I realized there is no rush. There is a world of opportunity out there for experienced teachers.
I've always dreamed of dancing in the Carnaval Parade. My first task is to find a Samba Club that accepts members like me. I like what I've heard of Bahia, but Natal or Brazilia are fine too.
Does anyone know about the Samba Clubs, how to make contact, and become involved? I will also need housing. I have five months to make arrangements.
