I'll be taking the TEFL Corinth class (Via Lingua) this July and plan on teaching in Greece following the completion of the course.

My friend (who is currently teaching privately for a family in Greece) is returning to the States at the end of June and her boss basically offered me the position (on the island of Kos). However, I would like to teach in a classroom setting, particularly in Athens or Thessaloniki.

So my question is... what is better? Working as a private tutor for one specific family? or working at an actual school within a classroom?

Thanks!

It all depends upon your personal goals. If you wish to stay long term, then you might consider a school. Most contracts are renewable. Best of luck!

The private family is more likely to be a legal position. You are unlikely to get a legal work permit for Greece as a North American. Unlikely that you can land contractual positions with schools.
