Who in our colective experience are the best managers? hands off Saudis
or hands on Brits?
How many would love to work under a venerable American TEFL countess
with a voice like Top Cat? |

Working under a sane Saudi is preferable to being under an American/British tefl termagent who morbidly clings to vestigial outmoded discredited 1960s teaching orthodoxy . |

Gay brits arent bad, after all they arent after me, so why would I care who they are after on their free time. Americans who speak like Top Cat I have never met, but wouldnt be opposed to so long as it isnt Dr. Seuss you were referring to. However, the hands-off Saudi I would pick with hands down as they wont harrass you and would appreciate any input you have to give, not to mention your native english accent. As long as paychecks are on time and the resources are available, hands-off isnt so bad at all. |

What about a westerner who has been here so long that he/she has become out of touch with his/her own customs and ethics to the point where you can no longer distinguish him/her from a Saudi???
Or what about the westerner that has simply become a "yes" man and now in reality, he/she does not really have the authority to adequately manage a learning institution so subsuquently, it is managed by a Saudi. This westerner has merely become shiny coin on the road.
I know of such a school. |

Care to elaborate? I hear some trauma in between the lines that may be worth sharing... |

I cant say I have met anyone that expresses this point. Are you talking about the religious zealots, they are just buffoons who have out grown their pant legs.

Why not elaborate for everyone's sake - it may prove to be cathartic

And while we're on the subject, what about the English speaker who lives abroad so long that his use of the language begins to resemble that of his more elementary students? |

What was the question again?
Ah yes...
let me think..hands on Brits or Hands off Saudis.. I think I must agree with caliph: the saudi has been smart enough not to take on the job. But the Brit must a complete looser to come over here...Is there a third choice? |

Is that the opposite of a "complete tighter?" |
