Hello
Just a quick question about my visa. I came in to Turkey with a one year working visa...but the time I am allowed to stay in Turkey is one month. I think I need to check in with the police and the police said that they need another paper from department of education in Ankara saing that I am registered working at school. My visa will be expired on Monday (I will be here for a month on Monday) and the school is still waiting for the paper. They told me that the have already given a notice to police and police has already put my name on the list of foreigners that are currently working in Turkey. So I dont have to get a new visa extension paper. I can still carry on using my old one........(which has no edvidence of extension permission on it). Please guys, any advices on the situation. Do you think I should go home or should I wait here............
and please if any one knows the address and phone number of the police department I need to check in in Istanbul?

You have one month to go to the Foreign Citizen office (or whatever they call it -- Yabanciler Subesi) at the Emniyet (Security) to get your official work/residence booklet. That's what the month is for. You have a visa, but not the official "permission" until you get the booklet.

Thanks for your help. My school somehow arrange an extension at ploice for me for another month....so I am relief now....thanks for your information. I think I need to get the booklet as soon as the paper comes ın.......
the turks make this visa thing really complicated!!
