Hi
Can my girlfriend visit me in Kuwait for one week
would she have to stay in a hotel or can she stay with me?
would she get a visiting visa fairly easy?
if she likes Kuwait she will move there but
I know we would have to get married before we can live together?
Can she come through on a 3 month visiting visa and can we get married in Kuwait?
After getting married would she then be able to live with me and get a working permit?
please help.... |

Certainly she can visit you. I would wait and see what your living situation is before you decide if she can stay with you or not. You would have to check with your embassy as far as getting married there. Naturally once you are married she can legally live with you, and hopefully your employer would help you with the process of getting her the proper visas. A work visa may have to be done through an employer.

Actually, that depends on her nationality. Some countries cannot come in on visit visas. If she's Thai, for instance, then the answer is no. She has to be sponsored. |

I understood that she was also South African from his other messages... but Rommel is right frank... depends on her passport.

VS,
I'm not even sure that South Africans are on the list of countries that can enter on a visit visa. Are they? |

Could be true, but they are hiring so many of them these days at professional levels around the Gulf, I assumed that they would be on the 'list' now for easy access.
Frank... that's something for you to check on...

once you get your passport residence stamped and have a civil id AND providing you earn 600+KD monthly? (you will need a salary certificate in arabic) you can APPLY to sponsor someone on a visit visa
the visas are given at the discetion of the imm. dept.
as a 'westerner' and presumably causasian (things get very steroetypical) you can sponsor a non-relative male easily (assuming you are male).
as you are trying to sponsor a non-relative female who is presumably below the age of 55 the visa is AT THE DISCRETION OF THE IMM. DEPT
south africa has the highest HIV rate (or among the highest ) in the world , imm. may want an HIV free certificate....
things change on a weekly basis here, frank
better to marry her abroad then get marr cert ATTESTED then bring her here on a dependent visa
google 'south african embassy in kuwait' and talk to them

You and the South African/Indian lady would be able to marry at the Kuwait Law Court in Reggae here only after you BOTH have Iqama and Civil ID but marriages are not done at embassies in Kuwait. |
