I'm pretty interested in jobs in uae. I've been told that if you work you have to leave your family behind for a few months. what's the real story about this? if it is so how can people justify abondoning your family for a period of time?

Hi Guru,

I am single and always taught at the tertiary level, but I don't know anyone leaving the wife and kids behind for a couple of months unless they chose to. Perhaps this may have happened to some and I will have to let them answer. All I can say is that the majority of families that I have worked with all arrived on the same plane.

Most jobs in the UAE allow families and visas are not a problem. You just need to know the costs, education situation, etc.
My family is happy in Dubai.

Any employer in the Gulf Region who is worth working for will take care of your visa and other paperwork. If they do not, maybe you should look for another employer.

. The trip itself will be via the most direct route, but for unavoidable reasons associated with immigration laws and Armed Forces regulations (which are more fully described on the Employment Contract page) departure times for teachers and their family members will differ. The typical differences in these times could range from between four to six weeks.

thisis from MLI.....so what is the story with leaving the family behind?
