Hello to all!!

I have spent a couple of hours reading a lot of the messages posted here (trying to get to ''know'' you all, I suppose). I am currently looking for a teaching job, etc...and one thing has me very worried...In a few places a have seen race mentioned and it seems to me that most employers prefer white teachers. Is that true you think or am I mistaken ( I hope I am). I mean, what if you are asian-american, or black or latina, but are a NET (just learned this new lingo 2 minutes ago Very Happy

). Anyways, please help me with this. Thanx!!

Yes, you're right, race places an issue depending upon where you want to go and the type of job.

The better jobs usually don't care, but not all of them.

so what do you suggests I do? Any countries in particular or just try my luck everywhere?

Where would you like to go? Asia? Europe? South America? You must have some preferences of countries.
What is your educational background because that could restrict you from working in Japan or Korea?

Oh...I was thinking mostly Asia. I have a BA in liberal arts, but no certificate. I am looking for experience in a new field, but who knows...most of the people here got started thinking it would be a temp. job and never left...so you never know Very Happy

With a BA you could get work in Japan, South Korea, China, and probably Taiwan.

Some jobs/shcools will require more than a BA, however.
