Hello
Has anyone out there ever attended a TESOL job fair? Next year it is going to be held in Longbeach, CA along with the annual conference. Any thoughts on how useful it is? I am thinking about finding work in the US in the future. I am an American citizen and have been teaching abroad for the last 13(!) years. I have a masters in an unrelated subject, a CELTA and will hopefully complete an MA in TEFL in the next few months. Is it worth attending? I would like to hear from anyone who has been to one of these or a similar job fair.
Thanks! |

I went to the job fair at the Salt Lake City conference. I wasn't actually in the job market at the time, since I was still in school, but I did notice that:
1) there were many public school jobs in the States
and
2) there weren't that many overseas jobs
If you're looking into jobs State-side, there should be more for you to choose from. (I was looking overseas). |

Thank you denise. I will be looking for a job in the States, so maybe I will be lucky and find something there. I only want to teach adults though so I am looking for colleges or private schools.
I guess users of this forum don't attend job fairs--what about the TESOL conferences? |
