Using it for 'angry' seemed the number one usage for the term.
And the 'too' problem seems to stem from the fact that they have been taught that 'too' and 'very' are synonyms... when they are interchangeable only rarely.

I love you too much! Hard to explain the concept of obsession. |

to make a correction on the MA TEFL profs, a couple of years ago one was driven out by a student petition. thankfully, i took that semester off and had NOTHING to do with it. there were certainly other complaints about other profs as well. nowhere is perfect, dont go there thinking you are Oxford or Cambridge, . |

Hey Rana, glad you're feeling better and back with us. Are you trying to 'hijack' this back to the original topic??
I wonder if there is any university anywhere that doesn't have the same mix of good/bad and indifferent profs. I was always happy if they were at least fair graders.
But actually I think the OP on this thread was asking about the Writing Program and the move into the MA dept profs was hijack #1. Ah well, it makes searching more interesting...

well since I am from the Middle East and you how those Arabs like HIJACKINGS, saw the opportunity and had to do it, you know in the name of Palestine, haha.
anyhow ...
i have heard good things about working in the writing program and they have been more desperate for new blood lately, people moving on, etc. a little underpaid IMO, but prob a GREAT environment known many content ppl from the programs that were my neighbors, friends, before moving back to Bushland. |

I rather enjoyed the semester that I worked in the Writing Program. Our OP, Dan, has not posted since his question on this thread. I wonder what he decided to do about the offer.

Rana,
we miss you too much [sic] here on rd 15!!
As for Dan's question, I'd say working in the writing program is pretty good, the pay is not much but sufficient (at an early stage in one's career) and the AUC benefits are pretty good, especially if you've got a family.
pm me for specific questions. |
