Bursa has language schools and a Tömer Institute where you can learn Turkish language.

Winter in Bursa tends to be chilly, certainly more so than Istanbul because the altitude is higher. There is good skiing nearby (Uludag - the poshest ski resort in Turkey used by the rich Istanbul families). In fact the ski slopes are just a 'telecabin' ride away from the centre of town. It goes up to about 2000 metres or close.

Bursa has at least one University and many language schools and a big student population. It is more expensive than many other Turkish cities of a similar size, but of course very cheap by Western standards.

Bursa is famous in Turkey for people interested in 'alternative' lifestyles, including those lifestyles pertaining to gender preference. It is a liberal city by Turkish standards anyway.
