What on earth is a saffa? South African?
I'm not in Peru yet. From a partying perspective, most travellers seem to think that Brazil and Colombia are the most fun. Particularly the male ones. Brazil and Colombia are also the only countries in SA that only allow visitors to stay for 6 months of any year.
Brazil, Argentina, Chile and possibly Venezuela seem to be the most expensive to live in, and Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay the cheapest. Peru is somewhere in between.
The pay sucks everywhere - generally around the $500 a month area.
Work visas are a whole other issue. |

Average salary is between 500 and 700 USD and yes work visas are a pain.
I would tell you to try out Arequipa and Trujillo, not too touristy, good weather and things to see and do. NOw many people like Lima, I do. Others like Cusco, but I think that there are too many foreigners there, but you should have no problem finding a job there |
