I'm thinking about going back to the BRITISH ISLES for the summer, but I would quite like to avoid UK income tax. So, I was thinking of doing a summer school in Ireland rather than the UK.
What happens to Brits working in the Republic? Do we get taxed in the same way, or can we avoid it as we can in the rest of the EU?
Who knows?
Apologies in advance to anyone unhappy about this being on the UK forum, and not on an Irish forum. |

If you are headed for the 26 Counties don't suggest to the locals that they are part of the "British Isles". The same applies to large parts of the 6 Counties !
I am not sure that there is an alternative appelation for the "Offshore Islands" |

I have to say that it's news to me that TEFLers are exempt from paying tax in the EU - where are you working where you can manage to avoid it? If your *declared* income is high enough then you'll pay tax. As for Ireland you'll get taxed the same way as everyone else and you'll have a tax allowance of 5210 euros ,which is a bit less than the 5 grand GBP you'll get in England.
