My husband and I are considering moving to the ME sometime next year, after I finish my MA.

I've heard that in can be difficult to get a good job in the ME. I have taught in a kindergarten, language school, secondary school and universities. I've been teaching FCE and CAE for the past three years.

Would I stand a chance with five years experience in EFL, a BA and MA? We've got no kids and my husband's Peruvian with basic English.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Depends what you mean by 'a good job'. There are plenty of jobs offering good salaries (at least by international EFL standards), excellent benefits and generous holidays. However, it seems to be generally agreed that if 'job satisfaction' is a priority for you, then the Gulf is not neccessarily the place. I'm not saying I adhere to this view myself, but that's a different issue.

Most of the better jobs in the Gulf are in third level institutions, and they are really only interested in relevant experience, ie. experience in a college or university.

All in all, I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting a job in one of the women's colleges in KSA, so long as your MA is completed and you have the certificate to prove it. PM me for some suggestions on places to apply to - and places to avoid!

Your problem is going to be finding something for your husband.
