| I would like to find a teaching position in Athens. Is anyone familiar with any schools that are hiring (anywhere in Athens)?? Or any resources and/or useful contacts? I have not been able to find good resources online or any job postings for Athens, Greece. Please, any help is appreciated!! Thank you. |

| You've gotta BE there. Are you trying to find something from abroad? If so, very unlikely that you'll be successful unless you have specialist qualifications. |

Hi
I am teaching in Athens now but found that it is almost impossible to get a job from outside Greece. I eventually took the leap of faith and came over here with multiple copies of my CV, a list of schools and literally cold-called the school owners and visited the schools to introduce myself and leave a copy of my CV. As a result I got work at 2 schools and gradually increased my hours.
If this is feasible for you, I think this is the best way to find work in Athens. Also you can check out the job ads in the Athens News www.athensnews.gr There is a new issue out today and this is the time of year when schools are recruiting. Good Luck! |
