Once again Turkish football fans in general have proved what a despicable and unsportsmanlike lot they are. The UEFA will enact disciplinary procedures against the club in February following the recent match in Germany between Besiktas and Chelsea.
Chelsea players were pelted with missiles at the 'neutral' venue of Gelsenkirchen. The whole game was ruined by the ugly and disturbing mass misbehaviour of the Turkish fans...All sorts of objects were continually thrown at the Chelsea players during the match, including coins, lighters and bits of toilet roll.
The referee should have awarded the match before the second half to Chelsea as of right.
The worst part of the whole story is that the fans in Gelsenkirchen were not even Besiktas fans...mostly just Turkish emigrants who live in the area. This shows what a stupid lot they are, because they (the false fans) were just using the match as a pretext to show their true violent colours to anything foreign.
As all of you know it is not even worth it for foreign teams to play in Istanbul or other venues in Turkey, because what would follow would not be a sports contest on a level playing field.
Other nations of course follow their teams with passion, but the fans of other nations do not resort to the childish, reprehensible behaviour we all witnessed in Gelsenkirchen. Shame on Turkish football. |

In most of the civilised world soccer hooligans are seen as being an ENGLISH phenomenon. (NB not BRITISH. For some reason Scotland has fallen behind in the production of this species of vermin)
Ghost, please note that some of us have a greater revulsion for life in Her Majesty's Realms than we do for life in the Land of Ataturk. |
