Hello,
As the title said , I'm a novice here. I recently applied to different schools and just recently received two invite to go teach. One is O'Smart school of English in Taiyuan. i was wondering whether anyone had heard of it and if its a good school to teach at.
Thank you so much for any information Smile

The name doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. You might get more feedback if you post the terms of the offer--days off perks etc. as there is a chance that none of the regulars know that school. And of course try to contact past or present workers..Is that where you want to live or is it just the 1st offer??? Good Luck.

The name suggests a private institute. Read on EF, Delter and other competitors to get an idea of what they are up to!
I can only venture to say a word about Taiyuan:
It's the boondocks of the whole of China. Capital of Shanxi province, a coal pit, air black, snow black, water not drinkable.

Thank you for the feedback. I also thought the it didn't quite sound right but I thought maybe it was just my fears clouding my judgment. I am also looking at Nanjing Xiaozhuang College. I don't have as many misgivings about that one.

Dear Miss Silly

I suggest you accept the offer in Nanjing. It is the capital of Jiangsu province and about 3 or 4 hrs from Shanghai. It is a relatively modern city with a range of educational facilities.

I work at a vocational college in Nantong ( in Jiangsu province ) which is equidistant between Nanjing and Shanghai. Most of the students at Nantong colleges aspire to attend universities in Nanjing, so I imagine you will have a group of motivated students.
