Comments on this place ? I want a change from that awful Tylos.
And preferably a place where the working girls (and boys) keep a low profile. |

I am reliably informed that it's a lovely place on a dark desert highway. |

Is it down at the end of Lonely Street, or am I confusing it with another establishment? |

Can't say I'd agree with that one (nor does Wikipedia and everyone knows that it is infallible. )

And why should I assume that your heart is true...

(never liked the King... preferred Pitney and Vinton... ...a bit too young perhaps?) |

Beatles fan myself. Also partial to the Rolling Stones, Who, Kinks and Yardbirds, with a bit of Dylan, Hendrix and the Beach Boys thrown in for good measure. They don't make 'em like that any more.
I wonder if Keith Moon would still have been wrecking hotel rooms if he hadn't checked out early. |

Keith Richards is still trying to kill himself with... whatever. Rather amazing that he hasn't succeeded.
Pitney and Vinton were during that pre-teen stage (with the Beach Boys), but the Beatles were the end of that innocent period of rock. Then there was Led Zeppelin, Queen, Cream, Creedence and all the great bands of the late 60's and 70's. Hendrix and Janis... die young and leave a wonderful memory... |

I'd prefer to live long and have a wonderful...even if somewhat inaccurate and unwittingly selective...memory!!
Given that it is Bahrain, does this Hotel California have mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice?
It probably does, for the Saudi western expats who are, in truth, prisoners there of their own device.

... at the master's table, they gather for the feast... they stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast...
I used to be amazed at the ability of my students in the ME to memorize, but then I realized that I knew the words of most of the hits of the 60's and 70's. Pretty impressive until I realize that I can't remember what I did yesterday.
I wonder... do the young people today learn the words of those rap songs?
