A little over two months ago I applied for an ESL teaching position with the public school system in the Virgin Islands, and have had problems getting results from human resources. I know there is a demand for ESL teachers there. Anyone have any advice? I have a BA and MA in the field, national and international experience, and bilingual. An ideal candidate, right? Hope to get some insight.... thanks. Giovanni

They are still posting for ESL teachers in the Virgin Islands on www.teachers-teachers.com

Located in the Caribbean Sea, the United States Virgin Islands could
truly be considered the Caribbean's Melting Pot; students and their
parents represent a multitude of cultures (i.e. Caribbean, East Indian,
Spanish, French, Dutch, Asian, American and many more). The United States
Virgin Islands Department of Education currently employs over 2,000
teachers and other educational professionals in a variety of areas
including Elementary Education, School Psychology, English, Social Studies and
Special Education.

The VI Department of Education offers a generous benefits package to
all education personnel, which includes:

-Pension Plans with the Government Employees' Retirement System (GERS)
including disability, death, and retirement benefits.
-Health Insurance
-Life Insurance
