Maybe I haven't been using the search engine properly (this is very likely), because I'm sure this is a topic that must have arisen before, but can anybody give me some advice on whether there are any good MA TESOL programmes in the UK, how much they cost, how long they normally take and the kinds of prerequisites for the course? For those people who already have this qualification, can anybody recommend the place where they got it from and whether it has been a good move for them? (Though I have a bachelors, a CELTA, four years ESOL experience and am hoping to start an intensive DELTA in July, I rather suspect that I ought to get an MA soon. Would be very interested in a UK/Euro-centric take on the situation.) Thanks ever so much! |

Take a look at this link for some programs. Sorry you're going to have to dig a bit yourself. There are programs here from around the world.

There are just so many MA's on offer but after a lot of searching I found that Luton University offer what seems to be a very interesting MA in Applied Linguistics. It's a very practical, hands on course. It lasts for 1 year and costs about 2500 GPB but for international students I think the price could be higher. Check the web site:
www.luton.ac.uk/index.html
I think it's worth mentioning that this course attracted me because it covered topics that I find extremely interesting. You'd be well advised to look for a curriculum that also engages you and will stimulate you to flow along and cope with the intensity of the course.
The Independent Newspaper has a very good site covering Higher Education in the UK: Search the site and I'm sure you'll find allot of helpful info

Hope this helps! |
